You have to monitor the dog’s state at least during 4 hours after anesthesia, because the dog, standing unsteadily on his feet, can fall and injure himself. Proper nutrition and drinking liquids are a must as well.With proper care the dog can return to an active lifestyle 3 – 4 days after the surgery.

However, post-operative rehabilitation can take up to two months. So don’t worry, if a week after the surgery the dog is still weak. Just keep helping the dog and do check ups in the vet clinic.
In some cases dogs require additional medical treatment and a course of antibiotics.

! It’s not normal, if after eating dogs have vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. You have to contact your veterinarian.
