Bathe Tip: Bathing and Shampooing Your Dog

Bathe Your Dog -What shampoo to choose

It’s highly important to choose a right shampoo for dogs. Every specific choice of shampoos depends on the upper layer of the dog’s skin, which suffers from harmful effects and is intended to protect dogs from the cold, excessive moisture, bacteria, parasites and fungi.

Despite stiff wool and menacing look of some breeds, their skin is delicate and can’t be degreased,  because in such case the dog can get viral infections from parasites.

To prevent diseases, it is recommended to choose a shampoo according to certain breed  features and age of dogs (some breeds have hypersensitive skin).

Many dog owners make the mistake of getting used to the abundant foam, but dog’s shampoos don’t have that much foam.

Before bathing a dog, thoroughly comb his hair and make it free from tangles and knots. Don’t forget to place a rubber mat or a towel on the bottom of the bath, so that his feet won’t slip. It will be comfortable for you and your pet.

Make sure that water won’t fall into dog’s ears and eyes. Carefully rinse the shampoo, so it won’t remain on the skin and lead to irritation.

How often to make a bath for dogs?

This indicator depends on the dog’s breed. For example, curly poodles require more care than the Shepherd or other dog with straight hair. Of course, it is necessary to take into account your dog’s activity.

If you feel an unpleasant odor from your dog and his hair looks dull and dim, there is a high probability that it is the bath time.

Remember!

Using a cheap high-quality dog shampoo, you wash off sebum (sebum) and deprive natural defenses of your dog.

To restore the protective barrier and reduce water evaporation from the skin and hair, apply conditioner after washing.Thoroughly rinse traces of detergent. Wrap a dog in a towel and dry his coat. Be careful, using a hair dryer.Air shouldn’t be hot and scary for the dog.

The process of bathing should bring only positive emotions to dogs. Talk to the dog throughout the procedure, praise him in every way. Don’t use brute force and give delicacy after the bath.
