Cockapoo Siblings Meet On Street And Immediately Recognize Each Other

What started as a typical walk for two Cockapoo dogs became an unexpected family reunion like no other when the long-lost siblings ran into each other.

The two cockapoos recognized one another almost immediately. Despite the fact, they hadn’t seen each other for months. Sharing a big hug and nuzzle upon noticing each other.

The Cockapoos dogs, named Monty and Rosie, were born to the same litter last June. Even though there were 6 of them in the litter, Rosie and Monty were the closest siblings, always by each others side.

Susan Killip is Rosie’s human mom. Her friends who live in a nearby village adopted Monty and even watched Rosie for a week. However, the dogs never saw each other again until last month.

Killip said that the reunion was so lovely as both dogs jumped up and even hugged each other. It had been over 10 months since they both last saw each other, but they still remembered

Libby Pincher shared the cute story on Twitter. She posted a conversation with her dad which immediately went viral.

Although there is a debate about whether dogs can remember their siblings, social media users, and Killip now know for sure that the dogs recognized each other.

It’s also possible that dog siblings have such warm reactions to each other because they recognize something comforting or familiar in the other dog.

Tufts University claims on its website that

“Dogs of the same breed often gravitate toward each other, what we know is this: The scent of another dog stays with a dog for a long time … But whether the dog is processing that it’s a familial connection, we’ll probably never know for sure.”

Whether or not the two remember each other, will forever remain a mystery. The one thing you can be 100% certain of is that they both now know that someone very special lives nearby. And their pawrents are going to make sure they see each again as soon as possible!
