Dogs don’t love to go to the vet as we all know. So, a vet had a great idea to make sick dogs feel more comfortable being in the vet. The idea is to have a dog assistant with every sick dog or cat.
The vet’s “comfort dog assistant” comforts other dogs when they are having treatments to facilitate their anxiety and also ensures them and makes them feel like everything will be alright.
The caption reads:
“This veterinarian has a comfort dog assistant that helps sick dog patients know that everything will be alright.”
In the picture, a good-looking dog appears to be on IVs on a vet bed, and the cute dog next to him is giving him a gentle nose boop to reassure him.
The picture immediately went viral and got a huge response, and for good reason. Something so kind and pure as a dog reassuring his dog friend while being in a very scary time is enough to make us cry tears of happiness.
People responded to this on Reddit:
“Those sad eyebrows and the gentle nose touch,” agreed r/putfoodonyourfamily.
r/Adventurous_Opinion imagined the comfort dog saying, “‘It’s going to be okay fren.’” Then r/conundrumbombs summed it all up perfectly with, “Snoot boop.”
KlaOrangeJuice added “He’s a dogtor”, to which another redditor said in a reply “A Lab assistant”
What if that picture is actually of a veteran comfort dog, after helping countless others go through bad days, is now the patient, looking at the eyes of a new comfort dog recruit. As he remembers how he felt on his first day, he can’t help but do his job one last time, comforting the recruit that everything is going to be alright
